About MikroScan Technologies
MikroScan Technologies develops desktop whole-slide scanning systems for pathology, biology and research applications. Our product development is centered around three primary criteria:
- Speed of Slide Image Acquisition
Necessary to make scanning technology practical in scientific investigation and clinical applications
- High Quality Slide Images
Necessary for accurate visual or digital interpretations and collaboration
Unprecedented economics that allows a scanner on anyone’s desktop or workstation
MikroScan utilizes its own patent-pending Flash Active Convergence Technology (FACT) to acquire and share microscopic imagery instantly on local or Web based systems, allowing near-instant sharing and collaboration from virtually anywhere.
Most whole slide scanning systems presently available on the market are designed for high-volume large-capacity slide scanning with an automated workflow in traditional high volume histo-pathology laboratories. In contrast, the MikroScan system is designed as a complement to those systems and also provides the much needed desktop option, or a hub and spoke concept, which empowers individuals with on-demand participation in which collaboration, remote pathology and or frozen section applications are critical to good patient care and laboratory workflow.
Utilizing the MikroScan systems allows individuals, facilities, and institutions to participate and easily afford to implement scanning technologies as a “Standards in Practice” and workflow at a price and quality rivaling that of traditional microscopes.
